Antwerp diamond industry honors Varda Shine

Last Sunday, the Antwerp diamond industry honoured Mrs. Varda Shine, who is stepping down as Vice-President of the De Beers Group, during an exclusive dinner. Mrs. Shine has been an esteemed member of the global diamond industry for over thirty years and made an exceptional contribution to the diamond sector.

Mr. Kaushik Mehta, Vice President of the AWDC Board of Director, honored Shine’s achievements during his speech: “With a career spanning over three decades, Mrs. Shine made an exceptional contribution to our community. I am privileged to have had the opportunity to work with such an inspirational leader and visionary”.

Mrs. Shine also took the time to reflect on the past thirty years in the diamond business: “They say there are three kinds of people in this world: those who make things happen, those who watch things happen, and those who wonder what just happened. I made a lot of things happen in the past years, and now it is time to just watch things happen for a while before I think about what I will do in the future.”
