Security

There are different physical threats possible to Antwerp Diamond Companies: fraud, theft, switching, robbery, burglary, tigerkidnapping … Since a couple of months AWDC SO observed another increasing type of threat: cyber crime.
Examples of cyber crime include, but are not limited to: email hacks, caller id fraud, money exchange fraud, invoice fraud, bank transfer fraud, malware attacks …

AWDC SO wants to reach out to the Antwerp Diamond Community to increase awareness on the recent surge of cyber crime. The focus of the training is on CEO's, GM's, CFO's and personnel mandated to order or perform financial transactions such as payments, money exchanges and transfers.

From September till December, AWDC SO will organize a monthly "Cyber Crime Awareness Briefing".

The second briefing is scheduled on Tuesday 21 October from 2 pm til 3 pm in the Boardroom at the AWDC building.

During the "Cyber Crime Awareness Briefing" AWDC SO will elaborate on the following topics:

  • The status of the current threat (incl. examples of the Antwerp Diamond Sector)
  • Operational and financial impact on the individuals, the company and the insurance policy
  • The recommended security measures
