First Introduction to AWDC's Revamped Board of Directors

We proudly introduce the revamped AWDC Board of Directors! This group of 11, led by President Isidore Mörsel and Vice-President Ravi Bhansali, represents the Antwerp diamond industry and knows our sector's challenges. The commitment and drive of this entire group are of paramount importance to re-engaging the Antwerp diamond industry with growth.

The election process, which took place in June, saw unprecedented engagement, with over 1,309 votes cast—a record turnout that reflects the industry's collective investment in shaping its future. The six new members who garnered the highest number of votes bring a wealth of experience and fresh perspectives that promise to strengthen our community.

Isidore Mörsel from Dali Diamonds Company – 25 votes

Ravi Bhansali from Rosy Blue – 25 votes

Category 2:

Prakash Bhagwanbhai Patel from Veediam – 47 votes

Hitesh Bhimjibhah Kakadiya from Sheetal Europe – 34 votes

Category 3:

Chirag Shailesh Shah from Yashvi Diamonds – 377 votes

Samir Sureshkumar Mehta from Snehdiam – 257 votes
 

These newly elected members join six existing board members, creating a dynamic and diverse team dedicated to advancing the interests of Antwerp's diamond industry. Their collective priorities include restoring Antwerp's status as a leading diamond trading hub, enhancing transparency in board communications, and simplifying business operations for diamond merchants, especially concerning banking issues.

The AWDC recently confirmed that Isidore Mörsel, CEO of Dali Diamond Co, has been re-elected as president. Mörsel, who first assumed the presidency in September 2023, expressed his gratitude, stating, "I feel very honored to be re-elected as president of AWDC's board of directors. The global diamond industry is undergoing significant transformation, and Antwerp faces big challenges ahead."

Joining him as vice president is Ravi Bhansali, CEO and MD at Rosy Blue, a diamond trading and manufacturing powerhouse. Bhansali's election highlights the increasing influence of the younger generation within Antwerp's diamond industry. 
 

"In the past weeks and months, Mr. Mörsel has demonstrated an incredibly strong commitment to the Antwerp Diamond Industry and the challenges we face today," said AWDC's recently appointed CEO, Karen Rentmeesters. "The combined expertise and drive of the president, vice president, and entire AWDC board is crucial to steer the future of Antwerp's diamond industry towards growth, together with AWDC's management team."

The revamped AWDC Board of Directors stands ready to tackle the challenges ahead, working diligently to ensure a thriving future for Antwerp's diamond industry. The entire community is encouraged to stay engaged and participate actively in this exciting new chapter.
