On November 6, 2014, the Antwerpsche Diamantkring (Kring) organized ‘Rough Diamond Day’, a rough diamond trade event. It was the first rough diamond trade event in the history of the diamond industry.

The Kring, the world’s leading rough diamond bourse, opened its doors to exhibitors who were members of (one of) Antwerp’s four diamond bourses, buyers who were members of the World Federation of Diamond Bourses, their affiliates and their clients.

The exchange hall was buzzing, as hundreds of diamond dealers were queuing to enter. The atmosphere was positive, with sellers seizing the opportunity to increase their business and buyers networking with new suppliers. About 40 diamond companies traded approximately 100,000 carats of rough diamonds.

The Kring was overwhelmed with exhibitors, and participants repeatedly expressed their satisfaction with the event.

The Kring plans to organize similar events in the future.
