Israel International Diamond Week

The Israel International Diamond Week that took place this past week was organized by the IDE, in close cooperation with the Diamond Dealers Club (DDC) of New York and the Antwerp Diamond Bourse (Beurs voor Diamanthandel). Approximately 500 Antwerp, Israeli and US exhibitors welcomed delegations from the U.S., Turkey and Russia, among others attending the event.

Various speakers at the opening event, including Reuven Kaufman, President of the Diamond Dealers Club New York and Antwerp Diamond Bourse President Marcel Pruwer stressed the importance of restoring operational profitability to the many mid-market businesses in the diamond industry. Shmuel Schnitzer, the president of IDE, hailed the efforts to bring back activity to the trading floors of the world's major diamond bourses as being crucial to that goal.

The initiative taken by the Antwerpsche Diamantkring to organize the Rough Diamond Day event for the second time can be seen in that light. Those interested are welcome in the Antwerpsche Diamantkring on February 25 and 26.
