The Antwerp diamond industry is a melting pot of different cultures, nationalities and religions. We may be very different but the strength and uniqueness of our community lies in our diversity. To bring the communities even closer together, AWDC celebrates a few traditional holidays every year. On Thursday August 29th, AWDC organizes its third community event of this year: ‘Eid-Ul-Fitr’.

‘Eid-Ul-Fitr’, often abbreviated to Eid, is a Muslim holiday that marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting (sawm). Eid is an Arabic word meaning “festivity”, while Fitr means “breaking the fast”. The holiday celebrates the conclusion of the 29 or 30 days of dawn-to-sunset fasting during the entire month of Ramadan.

Come and enjoy some typical sweets in front of the AWDC building, we start around noon.

See you there!
