On Sunday, November 30, a ceremony took place to decorate the diamond industry’s Laureates of Labor. Stéphane Fischler, President of AWDC, was awarded with the Honorary Medal of Labor.

Established in 1847 by royal decree, the awards serve to recognize individuals for their knowledge, talent and commitment in their respective field of work. This year, 75 laureates were given an honorary award granted by His Majesty King Philip, as an acknowledgment of their skills and professional commitment. The laureates were selected by the organizing committee, comprised of representatives of the Royal Institute for the Elites of Labor, employers' and workers' organizations and the diamond bourses.

Stéphane Fischler, President of AWDC, and Myriam Dillen, general manager of Diamond ACV Transcom, both received the title of Honorary Medal of Labor. Their responsibilities in the next 5 years will now include representing the traditions,  morals and social standing of their profession.

Finally, Mr. Edward Denckens and Mr. Walter Huysmans received the title of Emeritus Honorary Medal of Labor.
