Herman Van Rompuy visits Antwerp diamond industry

Former President of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy paid a visit to the Antwerp diamond industry today. He received a tour behind the scenes and concluded his visit with a speech at a seminar organized by the Antwerp World Diamond Centre on the financial challenges facing the global diamond industry.

Mr. Van Rompuy’s visit once again underscored the importance of Antwerp in the global diamond industry. The Antwerp diamond industry is the largest and most important diamond trade center at the European as well as global level, but is also the benchmark as concerns monitoring the global diamond trade.

The industry and the board of the AWDC were delighted by his presence.
