The Rough Diamond Days that took place this week in the Antwerpsche Diamantkring were once again a great success. Some 65 exhibitors traded large amounts of rough diamonds to national and international diamond dealers.

From March 2-6, the AWDC will host 109 leading diamond traders in the Antwerp Diamond Pavilion at the 2015 Hong Kong Diamond, Gem and Pearl Show. It is the second year the traditional Hong Kong March fair features a separate loose stones venue. In its first year, the show attracted over 28,000 professional buyers from around the world, marking its emergence as one of the most successful shows in the industry.

The Three-Cushion World Cup will be held on Saturday 21 February at the Antwerp Hilton Hotel. AMB jeweler Patrick de Landtsheer designed a unique trophy set with 618 diamonds specially for this occasion.

On the occasion of Valentine’s Day, last week regional broadcaster ATV aired a report about the “Antwerp’s Most Brilliant” quality label.

On Friday 13 February, the Antwerp World Diamond Centre organized a seminar on diamond financing in collaboration with Febelfin, the Belgian Financial Sector Federation.

Every year, Flanders Investment and Trade organizes the “Export Lion” Award, a competition for Flemish export companies that have distinguished themselves in this regard. As the world's largest diamond trading hub, with annual turnover of more than 52 billion euro, we represent 5% of Belgium's total exports and 10% of Flanders’ exports. The fact that we are one of the most important export sectors in Flanders and Belgium is something we can be proud of.

Therefore, we encourage you to join the AWDC by participating in this competition. There are two categories: ‘small enterprises’ and ‘medium/large enterprises’. An award will be presented for each category: the “Export Lion”.

The Israel International Diamond Week that took place this past week was organized by the IDE, in close cooperation with the Diamond Dealers Club (DDC) of New York and the Antwerp Diamond Bourse (Beurs voor Diamanthandel). Approximately 500 Antwerp, Israeli and US exhibitors welcomed delegations from the U.S., Turkey and Russia, among others attending the event.

In 2015, the AWDC will again be organizing a new Antwerp Diamond Pavilion. The new pavilion will be located at the Vicenzaoro Dubai show, a unique B2B event in the Middle East dedicated to the jewelry business community. The show will be held from April 23 to 26, 2015.
