In the framework of AWDC’s partnership with Sporting A, AWDC is offering 200 seats for the basketball game Antwerp Giants – Maccabi Tel Aviv on Sunday September 22nd, 7 PM at the Lotto Arena. These tickets are available to Antwerp diamond community members only. Starting Monday, September 2nd, 9 AM, you can pick up a maximum of 4 tickets at the AWDC PR & Communications department on the 8th floor of the AWDC building. The tickets will be distributed on a ‘first come, first serve’ principle.
AWDC and Bain & Company released the third annual report on the global diamond industry: ‘Journey through the value chain’. The report focuses on the diamond value chain and traces diamonds’ route to market, offering for the first time a detailed view of channels and approaches for rough- and polished diamond sales.
The Antwerpsche Diamantkring, the world's only rough diamond exchange, has joined the Antwerp Diamond Trade Fair, to be held for the fifth time next January. The elegant trading hall of what is commonly known as the "Kring" will become the third hall to be transformed into a full-fledged exhibition hall. The Kring, Antwerp Diamond Bourse and the Diamond Club will be connected through red carpet, directing visiting buyers from one venue to the other. With the addition of the Kring as venue, more than ever, the entire Antwerp diamond district will be all about the 5th Antwerp Diamond Trade Fair from January 26 to 28.
In the framework of AWDC’s partnership with Sporting A, the Antwerp diamond industry designed 5 unique diamond trophies for the winners of the European Championship Hockey (men and women), the World Championship gymnastics (all-round men and women champion) and the World Championship Billiards.
The Antwerp diamond industry is a melting pot of different cultures, nationalities and religions. We may be very different but the strength and uniqueness of our community lies in our diversity. Since December 2012, as part of AWDC's partnership with WeForest, the organisation has planted 1850 trees on behalf of AWDC, in the Embu district in the western slopes of Mount Kenya, reforesting the equivalent of 0.41 hectares of degraded land.
This fall, the Antwerp diamond industry will be a prominent partner of various sports events in the city of Antwerp. The longterm strategic partnership with Sporting A, the city's project to promote sports as a means of community integration, was launched through yesterday's presentation of two diamond hockey trophies for the European Hockey Championships.
