The Board of Directors of the ‘Beurs voor Diamanthandel’ is launching a pilot project for local diamond manufacturers and traders to display their polished diamonds in the hall of the ‘Beurs voor Diamanthandel’, at a one-day Antwerp Diamond Manufacturers and Traders Fair. This is an initiative in cooperation with the other Antwerp diamond bourses.
On September 17th, His Excellency the President, Lieutenant General Seretse Khama Ian Khama officially launched Okavago Diamond Company (ODC) in Gaborone, Botswana. ODC’s launch follows a successful pilot sale held in July and signals that the company has formally opened its doors to the global diamond market.
Logistics company Malca-Amit has issued an alert about a firm called Malca-Amit West Africa which is falsely representing itself as part of the Malca-Amit International Network.
The company, which has no affiliations whatsoever with the Malca-Amit International Network, claims to be working throughout West Africa as part of Malca-Amit. Anyone who is approached by a representative of Malca-amit West Africa, or hands their valuables tot his company, should be aware that they are not working with a genuine member of the Malca-Amit International Network.

Over the coming months, the Antwerp diamond jobsite, AD Jobs, will be in the spotlight through a national media campaign. With over 500 job seekers already registered, the new jobsite is an excellent tool to find suitable candidates for job openings. To promote this service even more, AWDC has set up a series of new initiatives, such as a partnership with VDAB, which entails job postings will be in the spotlight on the VDAB jobs website, a promo spot and editorial piece on the local Antwerp TV channel ATV and AD Jobs presence on the Kinepolis Job Fair on September 30th.
