The Chair of the Kimberley Process (KP), Mr. Bernardo Campos, visited Antwerp on Tuesday, January 27th. The chairman had a meeting with the AWDC Senior Management and the focal point for the Administrative Support Mechanism (ASM) of the KP.

This Sunday, the sixth edition of the Antwerp Diamond Trade Fair (ADTF) opens its doors to a few hundred jewelers, jewelry manufacturers and jewelry designers from all across the globe. Over the course of three days, from February 1st to 3rd, they can meet with 90 of Antwerp’s top diamond companies in the trade halls of the Beurs voor Diamanthandel, the Diamantclub of Antwerp and the Antwerpsche Diamantkring (Kring).

AWDC and Antwerp-ITCCO organize Action Learning on Sustainability for the Flemish Parliament
On 25 & 26 February, the Antwerpsche Diamantkring (ADK) will organize the second edition of the Rough Diamond Day in the ADK trading hall. The first edition in November was so successful that the second one will be held over two days.
Last Tuesday, the AWDC New Year’s reception took place at the Antwerpsche Diamantkring. Guest of honor was Mr. Pieter De Crem, Secretary of State for Foreign Trade.

In the margins of the World Economic Forum, the Antwerp World Diamond Centre set up a dedicated diamond-financing seminar in Davos, introduced by Flemish Minister President Mr Geert Bourgeois and attended by international financial institutions.

During Christmas week, Belgian national radio channel Radio 1 aired a four-part series on the diamond industry.
Every morning between 8am and 9am the De Ochtend program included a short reportage on the diamond trade, which focused on diamond trading, production, polishing and retail.
