Antwerp, 12 November, 2014 - The Antwerp diamond sector’s trade figures in October decreased slightly compared to the same month last year. Figures show that slightly fewer polished diamonds were traded, but the value of diamonds traded was higher compared to the value of polished diamonds traded in October last year. Rough diamond trade figures also show a decline compared to October 2013, but the first ten months of the year as a whole do show an increase.
On November 12 & 13, the 2014 edition of the Mining Security & Crisis Management Forum took place in Cape Town. The forum was specifically aimed at managers, directors, analysts and heads of security of mining companies and exploration companies, and addressed both physical security threats and cyber threats.
The Zimbabwe Diamond Conference took place in Harare on November 6 and 7, with ‘Completing Zimbabwe's diamond potential for the future’ as the central theme. Mr. Ari Epstein, CEO of the Antwerp World Diamond Centre, delivered a speech to the numerous key stakeholders in attendance.

On November 6, 2014, the Antwerpsche Diamantkring (Kring) organized ‘Rough Diamond Day’, a rough diamond trade event. It was the first rough diamond trade event in the history of the diamond industry.
