On Wednesday evening, a delegation of the Antwerp World Diamond Centre (AWDC) and representatives of no less than 35 Antwerp diamond companies met with a delegation of the Gokhran Of Russia, the State Precious Metals and Gems Repository, ALROSA’s top management and other stakeholders of the Russian diamond industry, during an exclusive Antwerp Diamond Night at the Belgian Embassy in Moscow.
February import and export figures of the Antwerp diamond sector continue to indicate a high trade performance. Following the excellent kick-off of the year in January, the positive trend continued last month with soaring trade as compared to February 2013.
Ari Epstein, CEO of the Antwerp World Diamond Centre (AWDC) delivered a strong message of support for long-term growth at the ZimAsset Awareness Seminar, a Parliamentary Hearing on the future economic development of Zimbabwe, held in Harare. Invited by Parliament, Epstein shed more light on why the world’s leading diamond trade centre continues to be a committed partner for sustainable development growth of Zimbabwe’s diamond industry. Elaborating on the success of the recent diamond tenders of Marange goods in Antwerp, he demonstrated how Zimbabwe can generate tens of millions US$ in additional revenues by tendering rough diamonds in Antwerp.
From 3 until 7 March the "Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem and Pearl Show" took place, one of the fastest growing and most successful trade shows of the year. The Antwerp diamond sector was present in full force, with 67 companies in the Antwerp Diamond Pavilion.

From 1 – 4 April, Antwerp’s finest diamond companies will be showcasing their goods in a new Antwerp Diamond Pavilion at the Jewellery & Gem Fair – Europe in Freiburg, Germany. The Basel Fair is merely a 30-minute drive away so you can attend both fairs easily. Organized by the renowned UBM Asia, the trade fair hosts no less than 400 exhibitors from 28 countries, including 25 diamond dealers and diamond labs from Antwerp, in the only Antwerp Diamond Pavilion in Europe.
For the third consecutive year, the Antwerp Diamond Sector will participate in the SID-in fair, which will take place from 13 till 16 March. In collaboration with the Fonds voor Diamantnijverheid and HRD Education department, AWDC will provide information about introductory diamond polishing courses and the sector in general.
